Service

Flashcut is a hosted AI video assistant. You upload video files, the service analyzes them, and you direct the resulting edit via chat. Exports can be downloaded as OTIO, FCPXML, XML-EDL, or rendered media.

Acceptable use

Don't upload content you don't have the rights to edit. Don't use Flashcut to produce content that's illegal, targets minors sexually, or harasses identifiable individuals. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate this.

Ownership

Your footage is yours. Your exports are yours. We make no claim on the content you upload or the edits you produce. You grant Flashcut a limited license to process the files solely for the purpose of providing the service.

Availability

The service is provided as-is, without an SLA. We work to maintain availability and will communicate planned downtime, but we don't guarantee uptime, throughput, or processing latency.

Termination

You can delete individual projects at any time, which removes their data within 24 hours. To close your account entirely, email team@flashcut.dev and we'll remove all your projects and uploads with it. We may suspend accounts that violate acceptable use, with notice where practical.

Limitations of liability

Flashcut is a tool. Editorial decisions, fact-checking, and final review are the user's responsibility. We are not liable for outcomes resulting from the use of edits produced via the service, including but not limited to legal exposure, reputational harm, or financial loss.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to your account address and reflected here with an updated date at the top.
