FlashCut for Premiere — Help

Install

Requires Premiere 25.6 or later. Download FlashCut from flashcut.dev/plugin and double-click the file; Creative Cloud Desktop opens and asks you to confirm the install. Then open Window > UXP Plugins > FlashCut in Premiere.

Click Sign in. Your browser opens a FlashCut page showing a short code; confirm it matches the code in the panel and click Approve. The panel signs in on its own. You need a FlashCut account; the free plan covers 1 hour of footage every 14 days; after that you need a paid plan.

Send footage

Open a project in the panel, choose Send footage, tick the clips and send. The panel renders small proxy copies with Adobe Media Encoder and uploads those over a secure connection. FlashCut transcribes and analyses them; progress shows in the panel.

Find narratives and build a sequence

Once clips are ready, Discovery Narratives drafts story options from what your interviewees said. Pick the soundbites you want and choose Build sequence: FlashCut places the matching clips from your Premiere project onto a new sequence. The steps appear in Premiere’s undo history as "FlashCut: …".

Your plan and hours

The panel shows your hours for the month. At the limit, Upgrade opens the pricing page already signed in; on a paid plan, Manage plan opens billing.

Troubleshooting

Panel is blank or shows an error on start: close and reopen it, then restart Premiere.

Send footage is disabled or encoding fails: confirm Adobe Media Encoder is installed and can open.

It says Update required: download the newest version from flashcut.dev/plugin and install it the same way.

Signed out unexpectedly: click Sign in again. Your projects and sent footage are kept.

Privacy and data

The panel talks only to flashcut.dev and its upload storage. See the Privacy Policy and Terms for how footage, transcripts and account data are handled and how to delete them.
